This painful time of suffering.
This flowing river of sorrow.
I’ve got to take each day at a time;
Can’t think about tomorrow.
I’m breaking down, a mess inside.
On the outside, I am strong.
This can’t go on forever.
I wonder how long?
Does anyone hear me?
God, are You there?
Does anyone hear me?
Do they really care?
Most of the time, I can hide it away.
But when night falls, all I can do is pray.
Does anyone hear me?
In this sad time, I try to be
A steady and sure lamp to those around me
Who are weaker and don’t have the strength to stand.
But when the nighttime settles in
And the world is tucked away,
Then all my feelings tumble out
With all the tears I’ve kept at bay.
Does anyone hear me?
God, are You there?
Does anyone hear me?
Do they really care?
Most of the time, I can hide it away.
But when night falls, all I can do is pray.
Does anyone hear me?
I know people care and are praying for me.
But at night, it’s hard to say
That everything will be all right.
It’s easier in the day.
God, You’ve got to help me get through this.
I believe that you are there.
If I don’t have Your help, I’ll break down.
Please, come and hear my prayer.
Does anyone hear me?
God, are You there?
Does anyone hear me?
Do they really care?
Most of the time, I can hide it away.
But when night falls, all I can do is pray.
God, do You Hear me?
